Get Baptized

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation that has already taken place in one’s heart. Baptism in no way saves a person from their sins. Only faith in Jesus Christ can do that. However, Jesus does instruct all disciples to be baptized as a public declaration of their faith (Matt. 28:18-20).

In the baptism waters, one is identifying with Jesus by dying to their old self and receiving a new life in Christ (Rom. 6:3-4). More than that, one is also identifying with with Christ’s bride, namely the church (Gal. 3:26-29).

Therefore, baptism is reserved for Christians only – for those who have repented of their sins and trusted in Jesus for their salvation. We see this played out several times throughout the New Testament (Acts 2:38-41; 8:35-38; 16:31-33).
