Leaders
Elders
Recognizing both the need for and gifts of leadership and teaching, Grace Bible Church is led by a plurality of elders (some paid, some lay) who seek to shepherd God’s people and to oversee the ministries of Grace in line with our Confession and Values (1 Pt 5:1-4, Eph 4:11, and Titus 1:5-9)
Andrew Franseen

Andrew spent the first fifteen years of his life in a Christian home, with godly parents, attending a good church. He used this Christian environment to convince himself that he must be saved. While headed toward a career in golf, the Holy Spirit convinced Andrew that all of his righteousness was like filthy rags and he was converted at the age of fifteen. Following his senior year of high school, Andrew was called by God to be a minister of the Gospel. This calling has been confirmed through college (B.A. in Bible, minor in Greek), graduate school (M.A. in Theology) and a pastoral internship at Hampton Park Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. Andrew and his best friend Jessica were married in 2002 and the Lord has kindly given them three children: Gloria, Isaiah, and Micah. God brought Andrew to Grace Bible Church in 2008 where he serves Christ and His Body as Pastor for Teaching.
Robert Hendricks

Robert is a charter member of Grace and counts himself blessed to have served Christ as a deacon and now as an elder at GBC. He is the owner of Hendricks Electric Company, an electrical services company serving the upstate of South Carolina. Robert and his wife Theresa are thankful for a church that preaches God’s Word, assists them in provoking their six children to love God with heart, soul and mind and exalts Christ as the One who deserves our worship.
Steve Newton

Steve and his wife Libby came to GBC in 1996 and he became an elder in 1998. He grew up in Bolivia where his parents were working as missionaries, translating the Bible into the Guarayu language. Since college, he has worked in software development for three businesses in upstate South Carolina. He considers Christ his greatest treasure, is forever grateful for his dear wife, counts his six children as true gifts from God, and marvels at the grace of God in salvation and the work of God in creation.
Mat Stribling

Originally from West Virginia, Mat came to South Carolina to pursue a B.A. in Bible and his M.Div. God has blessed Mat with his wife Lori and has given them two children, Karis and Asher, to shepherd. Mat and Lori have attended GBC since 2002. While at Grace Mat has served as an intern, administrative assistant, youth leader, deacon, and now he is thrilled and humbled to serve as an elder. He currently works as an assistant manager with SunTrust bank in Greenville. Mat has a love for teaching and encouraging others in their walk with God. He is grateful for GBC where God has shown him the beauty of the Gospel for all of life.
Deacons
Recognizing both the need and gifting of skilled servants with high integrity, Grace Bible Church is wonderfully served by task-oriented deacons who see to the physical needs of the body, the building and benevolence (Acts 6:1-7 and 1 Tim 3:8-13).
