GRACE INSTITUTe
Grace Institute blends advanced biblical training and single-gendered small groups. Our goal is to train disciples to learn from Jesus, love Jesus, and look like Jesus. The Institute meets on Sunday evenings for dinner, small group discussion, and classroom lectures. Participants devote one to two hours a week on homework. Reach out to Associate Pastor Ryan Leasure with any questions.
fall semesteR - old testament 1
For many Christians, the Old Testament is difficult to grasp. With its heavy dose of archaic laws, strange historical episodes, Hebrew poetry, wisdom literature, and prophetic oracles, it's no wonder that Christians usually default to reading the New Testament. But we must never forget that the Old Testament was Jesus's Bible, and that it serves as the foundation for the New Testament. Meaning, without a proper understanding of the Old Testament, we will often misinterpret the New. For this reason, we're offering two consecutive courses (Old Testament 1 and 2) that will work through the Jewish Scriptures on a deeper level. The fall semester will cover Genesis through Esther, while the spring semester will work through Job through Malachi.
If you want to get a better grasp on this vital portion of Scripture and become more skilled in handling the Scriptures, we encourage you to sign up.
Participants begin each evening at 5 p.m. learning in a lecture-style session in the auditorium. At 6 p.m., all participants enjoy dinner with their small group and leader to discuss homework and daily journaling, review accountability questions, and practice scripture memory.
Our desire is that all members at Grace participate in either a Grace Group or Grace Institute. Each semester is a new opportunity to try one or the other. The Institute requires an increased amount of time, energy, and resources. This investment in your personal growth, which affects your own family, our church, and the unbelievers in your life, is well worth it.
